If you’re anything like me, you likely spent a small fortune last weekend on a Halloween costume, accessories, decorations, etc., so who has enough money to go on a date?! You do! Not every date has to be fancy and expensive.
That’s why this week’s date calls for a cost-free and rewarding day outside. We’re lucky to live on such a beautiful campus, but as busy college students, we don’t often take time to appreciate it. Walking or jogging on a clear day can be a nice break from your routine, and allows for real conversation. Besides, as all you psych majors know, adrenaline is correlated with increased feelings of attraction. So find a fun workout outfit (no baggy sweatpants, ladies!) and your Campus Cutie, and trek out to Matoaka to work off the consequences of your Halloween “treats.”
Date location: The trails around Lake Matoaka. Check GoogleMaps to choose the best starting point for you.
Best for: A day with the S.O. or someone you’ve been dating for a while so you’ll be comfortable with the more laidback style of this date, rather than constantly struggling to come up with something to say.
What to bring:
- Water
- Comfortable running shoes
- A sports headband to keep your hair out of your face
Cost: $0-$5 (If you decide to reward yourselves with a frozen yogurt from Berry Body afterward!)
