Dylan McCann (’12)

Major:Marketing & Finance

Campus Activities:I’ve done W&M Tribal Dancers, campus bible studies, and FCA.  After my semester abroad at London College of Fashion, I’m excited to focus on leading Her Campus.

Why did you first get involved with Her Campus? What has been your favorite part?  I initially saw HC as a way to jumpstart my dream of working at a fashion magazine.  My favorite part has been catching up on articles from W&M writers, because I know I’ll always get a good laugh.  Her Campus at W&M has an amazing sense of humor.

Your style in 5 words or less: I. Love. Dresses.

Describe your ideal day at W&M:  I would wake up at my apartment and make scrambled egg whites (with extra pepper).  After my classes in Miller I would walk outside and find my boyfriend waiting for me on the steps.  He’d say, “Hey Baby.”  Then we would get ice cream in a cup from Sadler and eat on the terrace.  After my food baby shrunk down I’d hit up Jamestown beach with some of my best friends from dance team.

Favorite designer? Favorite college budget/affordable designer? I love the vibrancy and femininity of Kenzo.  Otherwise, I shop mostly at Nordstrom rack to get the best deals on unique pieces.

Best college memory? My best college memory was being on WM Tribal Dancers.  I love performing for big crowds, and last year our football and basketball teams were ballin (so corny, I know).

What are you most excited for this summer?  I most excited to be interning with Marie Claire in NYC!  It will be my first time in NYC!

Describe your vision for Her Campus WM after you take over as Campus Correspondent/ Editor in Chief…. My vision for Her Campus WM is to involve more underclassmen in leadership positions, cover more of the “social news” on campus, and add a “spotted on campus” photo/fashion section that would spread awareness of our awesome site.   This time next year I envision the site having fresh content uploaded frequently, and perhaps a fashion show will be in the works.  Ultimately, I hope Her Campus WM becomes a destination procrastination location for girls AND guys all over campus.
