Anyone for a dance-off?!  From the stage to the football stadium, Haley Kumar always stands out a mile away. With those moves and that smile, this talented beauty sure is the epitome of Tribe Pride!
Name: Haley Kumar

Major: Kinesiology

Minor: Math

Year: 2014

Relationship status: In a relationship

Hometown: My friends call me homeless! I grew up overseas and moved so much that I don’t exactly have a hometown. I was born in Honolulu, though!

How did you first get into dancing?
I was the most awkward kid my freshman year of highschool, and my best friend was the most graceful dancer ever! I did an after-school hip-hop dance class… I was terrible hahaha. But it’s how I ‘started’ I guess?

Why do you like dancing?
It can be hard to express yourself in a meaningful way. Dancing is so incredible because the music and the motions together express something so much more than words could ever say.
Why I like dancing in Syndicate, though, is a different answer. I get to be surrounded by some of the most imaginative, talented, kickass people on campus. We share more than just dance too, we’re friends, and I love my Syndi-fam!

What are you involved in on campus?
I am in Syndicate, I’m a Tribe Ambassador, I’m an OA, I just started volunteering with Campus Kitchens (the kids make my liiiife), and I’m in TriDelt!

How would you describe your style?
Does ‘hobo’ count as a style? Hahaha just kidding, it’s just finals week… Since I grew up in warm, tropical places, my style is very colorful and flowy. Dresses are amazing, but that’s just because I’m lazy. No pants!

What’s the best thing about W&M?
The best thing? I’m obsessed with our tradition – everything from Convocation to the Triathlon. But, really, what’s made my time here are the people. Not just my friends, but as a community, we have something special.

Describe yourself in 3 words: Hungry. Enthusiastic (about too many things). Loving.

Interesting fact about yourself:
I normally use my “I’ve been to 41 countries” here… but I’d rather tell you about the first bar I went to! It’s called Red Wagon, and it’s literally a Volkswagon bus with the top cut and sides cut out. It’s just parked in some alley in downtown Bangkok. 14 was a good year!!

Favorite celebrity? Don’t laugh… Nicholas Cage. Also, Gerard Butler.

Favorite place in the world? Phuket, Thailand

Favorite Christmas song? “Holly Jolly Christmas”
