What organizations are you involved in on campus?

CSO, JCA, Phonathon, W&M Expo Visual Arts Committee

Why did you choose those organizations?

The welcoming atmospheres and the potential to help make a difference.

What are your hobbies?

Dancing, martial arts, singing, making bad puns.

What did you do over the summer?

Got a kitten, learned cool EMT skills, and visited Singapore and the Philippines. 

What has been your proudest accomplishment so far?

Performing with Shaolin monks!

What is your favorite thing about William & Mary?

The sense that a fellow Tribe member has got your back, even if you don’t know them personally.

What are your plans for after graduation?

Teach neuroscience for a year at RDFZ, the top high school in Beijing, then come back to the US to apply for medical schools while working as a hospital scribe.

Julia O'Connell is an English major and Linguistics minor at the College of William & Mary. Her love of reading has inspired her to pursue a career in the field of editing and publishing. Aside from reading, her hobbies include ballroom dancing, crafting, and baking with friends.
