When it comes to working out, we all need a little musical motivation.  I know that when I go to the gym, I have a special playlist on my iPod that helps me get through my workout.  Here are a few of my favorite songs that I NEED to listen to during my workout:

1. “Run the World (Girls)” – BeyoncĂ©: What is more motivational that the fiercest woman on earth singing about girl power? When I hear this song, it makes me want to run forever! (Repeat as needed) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9TgJeS81KQ

2. “Out Tonight “- RENT: Here’s where the theatre geek in me comes out.  Don’t be put off because it’s a Broadway song.  It has a great rock ‘n roll tempo that gives you energy and loads of confidence.

3. “Headlines” – Drake: Fabulous beat, fabulous lyrics = just the song to have a fabulous workout.

4. “Raise Your Glass” – The Warblers (Glee):  Is it just me, or does Glee make all their songs have that extra “oomph” of enthusiasm? I love the original by P!nk, but the acapella version by the Warblers makes me want to get up and burn some calories!

5. “Just Dance” – Lady Gaga: This will forever be my favorite Lady Gaga song. I feel like she wrote this song just for people to dance or workout to. You cannot listen to this song and not feel motivated to get movin’!

6. “Goodbye” – Kristinia Debarge: I know this is an old song, but this is another perfect song with “ah-mazing” vivacity that will keep you sustained as you get through the climax of your workout.

7. “It Girl”- Jason Derulo: This song has a cool drop and it’s great to get you pumped if you’re working out on a Thursday or Friday in preparation for a night out!

8. “Good Morning”- Chamillionaire: The first lyrics to this song are: “I wanna show all of my hatas love.” Had a bad day? This is the perfect song for releasing that anger!

9. “The Hider”- VersaEmerge: Looking for something a little more hardcore? This song has a great beat which is perfect for lifting weights.

10. “Toot it and Boot it”- YG: This one’s great if you’re in a “club” mood. It has a swag to it that will make you want to shake your booty on the elliptical.

11. “Dynamite” – Taio Cruz: The ultimate song to get you through the remainder of your workout, helping you finish with “Dynamite!”
