COVID-19 for a college student inherently means that significantly less effort goes into your physical appearance. That said, every once and awhile you need to get dressed up for yourself and feel confident. Putting on some makeup and wearing a nice outfit can help things feel more normal. Here are some of my personal favorite beauty products of 2020!

1. Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer

I seem to sweat every second of every day. As a result, my makeup always slides and melts off of my face. The humidity of Williamsburg has created quite a challenge for my makeup’s willpower. However, this primer quite literally “grips” onto my face, keeping my makeup looking flawless all day no matter the conditions.

2. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer

This tinted moisturizer has been my ride or die for ages. Every time I wear it, I get compliments on my skin. It has the perfect amount of natural coverage, while simultaneously evening out your skin tone. I use the oil free moisturizer, but the brand also has an illuminating option. The formula is not extremely hydrating, so I use a regular moisturizer or hydrating primer too. I cannot say enough about it!

3. Colourpop Pretty Fresh Hyaluronic Creamy Concealer

If you want a medium coverage concealer with a natural finish, you’ve got to have this product! It’s super affordable, and there are so many shades in the range. It blends into my skin like magic. My dark circles and irritated blemishes get covered in a perfectly natural way.

4. Prose Shampoo & Conditioner

My big quarantine project has been to train my hair to be less oily. Hair health depends on the correct shampoo and conditioner for your hair type. Prose lets you customize your own product for your hair goals. You can also put in your zip code, so you get products specially made for the weather in your region!

5. Laura Mercier Ambre Vanille Body Butter

I’ve never used a better scented lotion in my entire life. I’ll even use this body butter as a perfume and the scent lasts forever! It is the best lotion for dry skin during the winter months and after a hot bath.

6. Anchal Face Masks

Our new normal of beauty and style simply has to include face masks now. The Anchal Project is a Kentucky based nonprofit that helps women exploited by the global sex trade. Anchal has employed women to hand-sew textiles that are made into quilts, scarves, and now face masks! I love to know that my PPE will help women around the world.
