You can even enjoy free movies in Farragut Square and kick back after a busy work week at Jazz in the Garden.

2. Make History: Whether you’re actively learning about the rich history of Arlington National Cemetery or witnessing history in the making during a momentous Supreme Court decision, you’ll find that your time in Washington D.C. will be memorable.

3. Play Ball: Washington D.C. is the perfect place for avid sports fans! Catch a Nationals game with your friends in the summer or chill out at a Capitals hockey game. If you’d prefer to get into the action, the city has a wide variety of athletic clubs that connect individuals who want to get active on the National Mall.

4. Connect with the Tribe: With over 20,000 William and Mary alumni in the city, you’ll never be at a loss for networking opportunities. If there’s not already an alumnus at your internship office, a quick LinkedIn search will lead you to connect to a graduate who will be glad to chat with you about their career and offer advice about the working world. 

5. Expand your Classroom: Studying in Washington D.C. is a hands-on experience. The time that you spend sitting at a desk will pale in comparison to the time you spend traveling across the city, visiting exciting locations, and talking to the movers and shakers who have expert insight to share.
