Weekly Celeb Gossip: British Fashion Awards, Moss and Campbell World’s Greatest, & Pirelli Calendar Released

Supermodels, designers and celebs all over Britain come out for the British Fashion awards. Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss stun on Interview covers and Pirelli Calendar released!

The 2012 British Fashion awards was yesterday and Stella McCartney won designer of the year, Cara Delevingne won supermodel of the year and Alexa Chung picked up the style icon award of the year! Click here to check out more winners from the award show. Rita Ora attended, and she closed the awards with a heart stopping performance! One notable attendee was princess Beatrice, who won the special recognition award with Harry Tillman chairman of the British fashion council.

This week, the new covers of Interview magazine were released and two of the world’s greatest supermodels were featured. Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell were featured on the cover of Interview Germany and Interview Russia. Naomi Campbell opens up about making it as a black model, check out a bit of the interview here.

The prestigious Pirelli calendar for 2013 has been released. This is the 40th edition of the calendar and unlike previous years, the subjects featured were all fully clothed. The calendar usually features the biggest names in the fashion industry and models featured in the calendars, have previously had their careers skyrocket after being featured. The photographer changes each year and this year the photographer is the famed US journalist Steve McCurry best known for his photograph “Afghan Girl” that originally appeared in National Geographic Magazine. Previous photographers who have shot the calendar include famed photographers Mario Testino, Karl Lagerfeld, Patrick Demarchelier and Terry Richardson. McCurry pays homage to Rio in this year’s edition and features Brazilian supermodel Adriana Lima. He uses the streets of Rio de Janeiro as background décor and other models that were featured include Liya Kebede, Petra Nemcova, and the one and only Karlie Kloss. Vogue Italia also reported that the models were chosen because of their involvement with various foundations, NGOs, and humanitarian projects. Check out pictures from this year’s calendar here.
