Trick… Or Treat? Staying Healthy During Halloween

Hey ladies, October is finally here, which means Halloween is right around the corner! If you’re like me, you probably have been spending some time (ok, a lot of time) figuring out your costume!

There is no better motivation for working out/ eating healthy than the promise of wearing a something that does not look like this…

Although eating healthy this month may seem impossible, when there is a bowl of candy everywhere you go, do not fear! To help you navigate through this tricky season, I created a Halloween survival guide with advice from Woman’s Health Magazine and Shape Magazine! This way you can still have your cake (or in this case, candy) and eat it too!

Craving Chocolate?

?Trick: Hershey’s bars with 210 calories, 13g fat, and 24g sugar

Treat: Skinny Cow Fudge bars with 100 calories, 2g fat, and13 g sugar
What you saved: 1/2 the calories, 1/6 the fat, and nearly 1/2 the sugar!

Treat: 3 mini reeses with 132 calories, 8 g fat, 78 mg sodium, and 3mg cholesterol
Why is Extra Sweet? This serving size has 2.4 grams of hunger satisfying protein!

Craving something fruity?

Trick: Skittles have 250 calories, 2.5g fat and 47g sugar

Treat: Gushers (mixed fruit bag) has 80 calories, 0g fat and 14g sugars
Save: 1/4 the calories and 1/3 the sugar!

Craving something chewy?

Treat: 8 gummi bears, 57 calories, 0 g fat, 12 mg sodium, o mg cholesterol
Why is it extra sweet? Gummies are practically fat free!
