VISUALIZING IS KEY!

With the year coming to an end, it is time for some reflection and goal-setting for the year ahead. A vision board is the ultimate tool for visualizing dreams and achieving sought-after goals. Vision boards can be physical collages, digital creations or even a Pinterest board. Vision boards clarify goals, increase motivation, attract opportunities and align thoughts with actions. They are a powerful tool to achieve your wildest dreams!

Each month, I create a vision board. I use Pinterest and create a collage of images and phrases on Canva. It is my favorite way to welcome a new month. I always reflect on my previous month, what I achieved, what surprised me, fun moments and tough moments. Then, I set three attainable goals for the month ahead in tandem with an intention and journal about what achieving these goals would look like for me. To conclude these monthly journal sessions, I create a vision board using the goals as inspiration. These vision boards become my computer wallpaper and iPad lock screen, so I am reminded daily of my goals and intentions for the month. I have thoroughly enjoyed this practice; it has helped me achieve my goals, but most of all, it has gotten me excited and inspired for each month. Although the journaling has made a real impact, the power is in the vision.

Vision boards make goals accessible and specific. By physically collecting images of your dreams, goals and intentions, you are bringing them into your reality. Visualizing your goals is the first step to success; it is what transforms a vague hope into an objective reality. Vision boards aren’t only for personal life, they can be for projects, trips and business plans. They make an idea tangible by creating a starting point for further creation and development.

The creation process of a vision board boosts positive thinking and reinforces confidence. It is an intentional process of physically creating an atmosphere of positivity and encouragement. It is a powerful act to spend intentional time generating contentment within yourself. Plus, regularly viewing a vision board can reinvigorate motivation for achieving goals and intentions.

Focusing on your intentions can increase your awareness of opportunities that would help you achieve them. For example, if you are focused on making time for creative pursuits, you make a vision board full of artistic imagery and phrases encouraging creativity. Doing this has put prioritizing creativity in the forefront of your brain; therefore, you are more likely to notice art class postings or schedule creativity time for yourself because you are constantly being reminded of this intention. This process is integral to goal achievement because it is the stepping stone from desire to action.

Vision boards are a tool of manifestation. But that doesn’t mean that by creating a vision board, everything will magically align for you without any further action. Vision boards are the first step. Because of their structure, vision boards serve as a constant reminder to align our thoughts with our actions. You know you want it, it’s you know it’s possible, and you know you have the motivation; now you just have to take the steps to create your reality. The power of a vision board is in the facilitation of this connection. Vision boards are a wonderful tool to achieve both your minute, short-term goals and your biggest, craziest dreams!
