You wake up excited, sure it’s not Christmas, but you can ready smelling the warm cranberries and turkey in the oven.

You quickly realize that your caloric intake will be higher than usual today and decide it is probably a good idea to get a workout in before the feast.

Thinking it’ll be easy as pumpkin pie, you get on the treadmill

After approximately 6 minutes, it starts to feel like the treadmill is fighting against you…

After the horrific workout, you aren’t feeling so great.

But you noticed you managed to push through 2.35 miles and decide that’ll do.

After a quick shower, you run downstairs to greet your family that has missed you all semester.  Your mom’s like:

You head to grandma’s and the whole ride all you can think about is the food that’s coming your way.

FINALLY you get to grannies, but NO!  The turkey isn’t cooked quite yet.

Your little sister can tell that you’re irritated and asks what’s wrong.  You snap.

You quickly apologize, realizing she hasn’t experienced being away from home-cooked meals for semesters at a time.

Finally, the food is set on the table and you’re spirits lift measurably

Everyone begins giving thanks for all the blessings in their lives.

Grannie says it’s time to chow down.  You look at the turkey and wonder if there’s ever been a more perfect piece of poultry

You take your first couple bites of mashed potatoes and you can’t remember the last time you had something so wonderful

And so begins your feast

At the end of the meal you are served your favorite pie and the day just can’t get much better

Suddenly, you realize just how much you’ve eaten…

Then decide:

Now that your stomach is full, you’re fully prepared to have some proper family bonding

After all, isn’t that what Thanksgiving is about?  Family and food.  What could be better?
