Trends come and go, but Doc Martens have been hot and trendy since the 1960s. For years I have seen Docs styled in any number of combinations, which completely blew my mind! I was always trying to pinpoint the kind of style that they fit best with — ‘grunge’ always hitting the top of my list. After asking a few of my friends about their Docs and how they style them, I found out that, across the board, the possibilities are endless.

“I wear Docs because they are super comfortable and durable, (even in the rain) and they go with my aesthetic really well. I love the whole punk vibe they give off. I usually pair them with acid wash denim or loose-fitting dresses. But, they honestly go with just about anything in my opinion.”

“What I love about Docs is that they’re cute, badass and comfortable. I usually like to dress them up with tights, little black dresses and a cool jean jacket. I wear them all of the time because they make me feel like an 80s bad bitch.”

“My mom really loved a pair of Doc Martens she used to have, so she suggested I get a pair. I bought a pair for a show I was in; they are tall, maroon lace-up boots. I love wearing them as costume pieces because they are really unique, and I am able to style them a couple of different ways. Since they are so tall, I can change the look by folding them over to show off a flowery pattern on the inside. I also have two pairs of laces: one is brown, and the other is a brown satin which looks really cool all the way laced up! I feel pretty badass when I wear them.”

The truth is that Docs work with whatever style you feel most comfortable in. After purchasing a pair of the Military Canvas Docs myself, I realized that I really liked how they looked with a pair of rolled up skinny jeans, a graphic t-shirt and a loose comfortable cardigan. My Docs make me feel fashionable and confident because when I’m wearing them I have this sense of invincibility.

No matter what your style is, Docs will give you that extra boost that says, “Look at that girl, she is ROCKIN’ it!
