Big Little Lies cast and their award

It wouldn’t be the Emmys without red carpet looks, though. Can we talk about Nicole Kidman, Zoe Kravitz, Shailene Woodley and Donald Glover? How about the cast of Stranger Things? Overall, these Hollywood’s stars shined at the ceremony.

Sean Spicer at the Emmys

In addition to the awards and fashion statements, the 2017 ceremony also unfolded with a lot of political commentary. The host, Stephen Colbert, referenced President Donald Trump in his opening performance and monologue, as did Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin and Alec Baldwin when giving and receiving their respective awards. Former White House press secretary and communications director, Sean Spicer, even made a cameo appearance.

There was humor, uncomfortable flirting and a bizarre sketch inspired byWestworld featuring a nude Stephen Colbert. All in all, the 69th Emmy Awards were jam packed with action.
