Military Jackets in Spring/Winter Weather

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wisconsin chapter.

We’re at a strange time for weather. It’s too warm and rainy for winter coats, but not quite warm enough to ditch your jacket all together.

You could throw on your cotton hoodie or a baggy sweatshirt, but instead of using your coat to cover your clothes you incorporate it into your look.

Military inspired jackets are very trendy and a great layer to add to almost any outfit. You can take it in several different directions; let’s start out with a boho look.

The beauty of the military jacket with this is that it helps to balance out the look and make it more modern.

A grunge look is also easy to achieve. Switch out your sweet dress for some fierce leather leggings.  Get an oversized belt and let it drape over your hips loosely to help create a messy vibe.

Our final look is a casual chic take on the military style.  The lace shorts and sheer tights give this look a feminine edge while layering the cardigan underneath helps keep it casual and comfy.

There it is, three different ways to style your military jacket, and if you’re looking to snag one then hurry up. Many are going to go on sale as we transition from winter to spring, and with the weather here you’ll have plenty of chances to wear it.
