Interesting Fact: My family came to the U.S. when I was nine…and my parents thought it was a good idea to start me in school two days after we moved here. And during my first month of school in second grade, I didn’t know enough English to ask the teacher if I could use the bathroom, so I had to tell her that I needed to go pee by using sign language…I got sent to the office by my teacher because she misread my sign language. Thanks Mom and Dad, love you guys for not teaching me the phrase “can I go to the bathroom” before sending me to school two days after we moved here.
