How to Wear: Your Oversized Sweater

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wisconsin chapter.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve pretty much lived in oversized sweaters this winter. They’re not only cute, but they’re also comfortable. Doesn’t get much better that. But I’ve noticed I wear it the same way most days: with leggings, boots, and a scarf. So it’s time for a change. Here’s some ways to spice up your favorite oversized sweater!

Outfit #1: Comfy Day

One of those days where you need to wear sweats? Yeah, I know – that’s, like, everyday. So grab your big sweater, sweats (I love these harem style ones), ankle booties, a scarf and a big watch. Now run to class.

Outfit #2: Maxi Skirt in Winter?

This is a great way to make your summer maxi skirt work in winter. With your big sweater, combat boots, some layered bracelets and a scarf, this maxi has a totally different look. Wear it out to lunch or walking around State Street.

Outfit #3: Miss Preppy

You can make a short skirt work with your big sweater, too. Pair it with some tights, flats, and a skinny belt around your waist for some shape. Keep it simple or add a statement necklace to dress it up.

Outfit #4: Professional

Take your sweater from grumpy to classy. With a pair of cropped skinny khakis, a white button up, black heels and jewelry, you’ll look pulled together and ready for whatever the day brings (even if your really not).

Outfit #5: Saturday Night

Take a break from the books and pull that sweater out again, because you’re wearing it out. With a sequin skirt, tights, silver jewelry and black lace-up booties, you’ll be comfortable and look good.

It's my first year at UW-Madison and I couldn't be happier. With school, friends, writing, tweeting, pinning, online shopping, eating, drinking coffee, sleeping, LAUGHING, and loving - life is bueno. And, I mean, I create outfits and write about them on one of the greatest websites for college ladies. How could it get any better?
