How to Revamp Old Scarves into New Styles

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wisconsin chapter.

As fall and winter start to creep in, it’s that time again to pull out those beloved scarves. Almost every girl owns at least one, even if it is just a simple knit one for warmth. But who’s to say that scarves for the colder months can’t be fashionable or trendy too? Instead of binge shopping just to get the newest styles, try revamping the old scarves you already have.

There are plenty of ways to update your scarves into something trendy by simply wearing it in a different way, and it is super fun and simple! You don’t even have to wear it as a scarf; simply think of it as an extremely versatile accessory that can be twisted, shaped, and tied in almost any way imaginable. Basically, it can be worn in any conventional OR unconventional way you can think of.

Here are some ways to try wearing yours!

Layer an infinity scarf—or any type of scarf for that matter—on top of long necklaces or wrap an infinity scarf only once so it hangs low to frame shorter necklaces underneath.

Try braiding your scarf or tying it into a bow around your neck to add texture and a 3D aspect to your outfit.

Make a scarf or multiple scarves into a shawl, cover-up, or even wearable tops or dresses.

You can even wear a scarf as a hair accessory. Wear it as a headband, bandana, full head wrap, hair-tie, or add it into a long braid for a pop of color.

There are ENDLESS ways to incorporate your scarves into your fall wardrobe by simply rethinking how you can wear it. For more ideas, check out these links:
