Is it dubstep? Is it house? Is it techno? The new phase of music that is taking over our generation is every bit of the first two and nothing of the third. The sounds of bass, loud noises and beats fill every song. Our generation has gone through a wave of music genres. We started with the likes of LFO, Backstreet Boys, N’SYNC, etc. We then moved to rappers, with 50 Cent, Ludacris and Lil Wayne. Although many are still sticking around with comeback tours, it’s going to be hard to compete with the up and coming DJs. Not only are DJs taking over the music world, but festivals are also blowing up and people are traveling all over to attend. And recently there are three words that every music junkie will die over: Ultra. Music. Festival.
Â
I unfortunately couldn’t attend this year, but I did last year, and what a time it was. For the music lovers it is a must see. Last year was two days, but this year they added on a third (and wisely so). With various stages and different DJs playing at all times of the day, the only thing you can possibly think to do is dance your face off. Not only are you dancing to the most amazing beat, but you’re also in MIAMI. There is nothing better than being with your friends, in the sun, listening to your favorite music.
Some people like dubstep, which is more beat. It has fewer words and is more about the bass. Others like house, which it is similar to techno, yet incredibly different. House is a lot easier to dance and “rage” to. There is no techno. None. No techno at all. None of this music is techno. The worst thing to do is go up to a house/dubstep lover and say this is good techno! So, for all of you newbies, listen to a few of these songs and I promise you’ll immediately fall in love:
