Have you ever been in Victoria’s Secret and seen a guy shopping for his girlfriend or wife? You can tell he isn’t quite sure of what to do, where to go, and is a bit intimidated by the girl to guy ratio in the store. Well, the same can be true for girls when going to the weight room. While I am completely in favor of girls branching out from the cardio room and into the weight room, there is no doubt that it can be a bit daunting at first when entering a weight room as a girl when there is a higher proportion of guys than girls in there. So what do guys think when they see girls in the weight room? We asked some guys what their take on it is, and here are their thoughts:
“I don’t mind it unless I see them lifting more weight than me, then I just get embarrassed and go home”
“Do girls fart when they do squats?”
“Those yoga shorts in the weight room are always encouraged”
“My athleticism is shown through FIFA”
“Every guy supports girls who wear spandex to the gym, but I feel like they can’t get mad if dudes are staring at their ass the whole time, they know exactly what they’re doing”
“Girls can’t watch me throw a football in the weight room”
“The outdoors is my gym”
“What’s up with all the chicks wearing leggings and bright colored shoes”
“I think everyone, men and women together, should avoid the weight room. It’s an evil place for evil people”
“Seeing an in shape girl in the weight room is attractive, and it can become a struggle to not look in her direction every 15 seconds”
So ladies, don’t be afraid of entering the weight room! Guys don’t mind you being there (as long as you aren’t farting while you squat).
