My podcast guide will help you find the listening experience you’ve been looking for

I’ll be transparent — I’m not your avid podcast listener, which is ironic because I have my own podcast. However, I have listened to enough of them to know what resonates with me and when. I will be reflecting on five truly awesome podcasts that I run to whenever I’m feeling some type of way. Read on for the important details so you can familiarize yourself with these podcasts, too!

When I feel feisty: Brunch with DesB

If you don’t know who DesB is, you’re missing out. Desiree is a fabulous business owner, content creator and mom of two who talks all things skincare, fitness and motherhood on her podcast. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Western Michigan University so not only does she know what she’s talking about, but she talks about it well. Whether I need a juicy Q&A session, some valuable lifestyle/fitness tips, or a feisty pep talk, Des delivers. I almost feel like she’s the big sister I never had because of her transparency and honesty with her listeners. It truly is a little community. Start streaming Brunch with DesB now to be a part of the fun!

When I need a mental health check-in: Real Pod

Victoria Garrick Browne, the creator of Real Pod, sits down with inspirational guests weekly to talk about mental health, diet culture, overcoming adversities and so much more. I am incredibly thankful for podcasts like this one because they help me feel normal and human while other voices sometimes make me feel otherwise. Real Pod has been especially helpful for me in eating disorder recovery. Victoria fights hard to break down the toxic barriers that society and diet culture has created; for that, I will always admire her. If you could use a mental health pick-me-up right now, Real Pod is certainly a safe place to turn to.

When I’m inspired to learn more about valuable financial choices: Financial Feminist

Tori Dunlap, the creator of the Financial Feminist podcast, also runs a bomb Instagram account (@herfirst100k) where she educates and equips women for financial success and stability. I have followed Tori on Instagram for quite some time, but just recently started streaming her podcast. While her IG is packed with bits and pieces of valuable information, her podcast is a great way to hear more in-depth conversation about finance. Through a mixture of solo and guest episodes, Tori shares empowering insights for women to help them navigate life with a sense of financial security and independence. Ladies, go stream this podcast now for all the financial fix-ins!

When I want to grow in my faith: WHOA That’s Good

The WHOA That’s Good podcast has changed the way I pursue my relationship with God. Through this podcast, Sadie Robertson-Huff touches lives by offering a space to relax and reflect on the glory of God in life every day. She brings musicians, pastors, authors, athletes, artists and speakers on for deep and light-hearted conversations full of fantastic advice. Christian or not, everyone can absolutely gain something from Sadie’s podcast.

When I want to feel seen and validated: Fresh Validation

There is a small catch to this podcast — it’s my very own! My co-host Elaina and I created the Fresh Validation podcast in hopes of helping others feel comforted and validated. Everybody has a story, everybody is going through something no matter how big or small, and nobody’s life is perfect. Through guest and duo episodes, Elaina and I maintain the golden rule that people’s experiences are VALID and should be treated as such. Does that mean we have to agree with everything or always have an opinion? No. We simply open the floor for welcomed communication in hopes of producing fruitful conversation. Whether you are looking for inspiration, friendship/relationship advice, a conversation about mental health, or want to relate to us / our guests, this is the podcast for you. We hope you enjoy it!
