As the new semester begins and fall officially starts, we all find ourselves exploring and pursuing new activities. When I say “new activities,” I mean new TV shows. What’s better than snuggling up with Netflix on a fall night… am I right, ladies? Especially when there are so many new shows coming this fall. These are a few of the shows I know I will be watching (and probably obsessing over) within the next few weeks.

1. “Scream Queens”

When I found out the man who created “Glee” and “American Horror Story” is starting a new series incorporating the two hit shows’ most beloved traits, I knew I was going to love it. The series blends comedy, mystery and horror as students are murdered week after week and viewers anticipate and question who will be the next victim.

2. “Grandfathered”

John Stamos (who is still looking as good as he was during his “Full House” era) makes a TV comeback in this new comedic series. Stamos’ character, Jimmy, is a bachelor living a successful and carefree life until he finds out he has a son, Josh Peck, who now has a child of his own. Realizing he is now a grandfather, Jimmy has to reevaluate his life and what he deems truly important.

3. “American Horror Story: Hotel”

Think of everything you love about “American Horror Story,” and then add Lady Gaga to it. Mother Monster makes her TV debut in this horrifyingly addictive show. In the series fifth season, a detective investigating a series of murders in Los Angeles receives a tip pointing him to the mysterious Hotel Cortez ran by Gaga’s character, the Countess. Just like the show’s previous seasons, Hotel will feature an amazing cast including many characters from past AHS seasons.

4. “Are You The One?”

Of course I had to add some reality TV to the list. The MTV game show debuts its third season on September 24th and there will be more drama than ever. In this dating series, an algorithm is used to assess compatibility and identify the 10 “perfect matches” among the 20 participants. Filled with drama, hilarity and romance, “Are You the One?” should be your go-to reality show of the season.

5. “Supergirl”

If you’re in the mood for a show all about girl-power, then look no further. Based on the DC Comics character, Supergirl Melissa Benoist (girl crush alert) plays Superman’s biological cousin and one of the last surviving Kryptonians. Twenty-four-year-old Kara Zor-El has gone her whole life hiding her powers. Now she must learn how to embrace and control her powers because of an unexpected disaster. Kara depicts a true heroine in the new show as she fights both everyday problems and superhero battles. Any girls in some need of some woman empowerment should definitely tune in on October 26th.

These are only a few of the awesome shows you should be looking forward to this fall… Many other great seasons are returning such as “Scandal,” “Awkward,” “Greys” and more. The opportunities for binge-watching are seemingly unlimited!
