Fashion’s History — Modern Mesh

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wisconsin chapter.

Fashion’s history is full of scary, scary things. Trends like crop tops, shoulder pads, or harem pants continue to come back into stores, despite the fact that they’re universally unflattering.

I don’t mind that fashion repeats itself. In fact I think taking old looks and making them modern is extra fun if done tastefully. Mesh is a repeat trend that’s been modernized by being tightly knit and paneled into clothes.

Of course you don’t want to look like you just stepped out of the 80’s in a mesh panel shirt. So to let’s give it a fresh look for spring. After all, it’s almost March and that’s spring in my book.

If you’re feeling rebellious stick to mostly black and white, add some studs to give that tough vibe, but of course a dash of color never hurt anyone.

Of course you can use it to appeal to your girly side to. Pair a chiffon top with a pastel pink scarf and ripped boyfriends jeans for a nice spring look. Then just pop on a pair of nice mesh booties, cute and breathable!
