Fashion Trends to Try in 2017

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wisconsin chapter.

As we welcome in a new semester, it’s time to set the habits we want to keep. That said, you may want to think twice before falling back into your old pattern of rocking sweatpants to class. School becomes a lot more fun when you get to show off the awesome outfits you wear, and there is no better time to try out trends than the start of a new year. These trends are sure to be some of our favorites in 2017.

  1. Hoodie Dress

Swap your traditional hoodie for this dress take on the classic favorite. These can be dressed up with a blazer during the day or paired with knee-high boots for a night out.

  1. Fishnets Under Jeans

This is a trend that has overtaken all of our Instagram feeds, and we can’t resist adopting this edgy twist. Floral lace tights are another awesome option for underneath as well.

  1. Animal Print

Whether you choose to rock the classic cheetah print or the funky snakeskin print, animal prints are a must-have to play with this year. If you are too afraid to wear a full-on animal ensemble, simply accent your look with animal print accessories.

  1. Corduroy

Heavier fabrics such as velvet and suede took over in 2016. We now have corduroy in addition to those, which will give a unique texture and an expensive look to any ensemble.

  1. Stirrup Leggings

Take your wardrobe staple to the next level with this strap detail. This small feature can make a huge difference in your outfit game.

Don’t be afraid of trying something that is usually out of your comfort zone. This is your chance to rock it out and make it your own this year!
