Papers, exams, and attempting to figure out why the world simultaneously hates you screams one thing: FINALS ARE HERE. Instead of focusing on the negative, let’s look towards the positive; after one week of pure hell, you’ll be done! Soon enough you will be on your “back home baller” grind. Luck for you, winter break gives way to an entire month of catching up with old friends, hanging out with your family and most importantly, binge watch Netflix.
1. House of Cards: Who runs the world? Frank Underwood and also Freddy, Frank’s barbecue guy, who is low-key one of the best characters on the show. If you haven’t seen House of Cards, now is the perfect opportunity to start. If you have, I recommend re-watching previous seasons before the new season premieres in February.
2. Parenthood: You will laugh, cry, and become insanely invested in the Braverman’s lives. PSA: have a box of tissues handy while watching.
3. Scandal: If you want to watch members of Washington D.C. get down and dirty, this is the show for you. Be sure to have a bowl of popcorn ready and a bottle of wine open; this is a show that you will not be able to turn off.
4. Grey’s Anatomy: Hooking up in on call rooms, pissing off attending’s, sassy convo’s, and cool medical marvels… what doesn’t this show have? Plus, Patrick Dempsey can really rock a pair of scrubs.
5. One Tree Hill: Love and Basketball set in perfect Tree Hill, North Carolina. No other words, watch and you will be addicted in a heartbeat.
6. Friday Night Lights: Clear Eyes, Full Heart, Can’t Lose. 100,000 times yes Coach Taylor, you cannot lose with this show. Fall in love with Tim Riggins, Matt Saracen, Jason Street, and Coach Taylor himself for the first time… or the second or third.
7. Gossip Girl: Watch all the gossip and scandal unfold involving your favorite Upper East Siders: Blair, Serena, Nate, Dan, Jenny, and obviously Chuck Bass. We know you will love this show xoxo, Gossip Girl. But for real, can’t stop won’t stop once you start.
8. Gilmore Girls: The most perfect mother/ daughter duo that ever existed. As if their bright blue eyes, witty banter, and Stars Hollow aren’t enough, by the end of the first season (or even episode) you will have plans to move to a small town in Connecticut to obtain their life.
Whichever show you choose to watch or re-watch after finals (*cough* during…) you cannot go wrong! Relax and enjoy, because Netflix is always there for you.
