We’ve seen artists that preform at local theaters and venues, and sometimes we are satisfied. While looking at these lineups and taking into consideration the music us college kids “jam” to, we start to imagine our favorite artists in the Madison spotlight.
1. Kanye West
With his new album, The Life of Pablo, reaching soaring heights, students are dying to hear these songs live. From a personal standpoint, I listen to this album while getting ready for a night out, hanging with my friends, working out, and while showering. To hear it live would succeed all expectations. He can bring Kim along for the ride.
2. Drake
Drake is an artist that many of us grew up listening to. My brother’s obsession quickly rubbed off on me as we would both listen to his albums in the car with the windows down. His hits of the past paired with new, more modern favorites explain his intense following. Who doesn’t need a little Drizzy in their life?
3. Justin Bieber
The many transformations of this young artist have definitely shown in his music. There are definitely fans here with Bieber fever that would be cured with a concert. I’m not sure how well the boys will deal with the diverted attention, though.
4. Beyoncé
We watch her on award shows, as well as the most recent Super Bowl half-time show. Beyoncé is by far one of the best, most unique performers out there. Since she serves as a role model to many females across the world, having her here would leave many star-struck.
4. Miley Cyrus
You could say this girl is no Hannah Montana anymore. Known for her eccentric performances and rare hair and makeup styles, her concerts would leave an audience speechless. I don’t know what theater would have the space for her wrecking ball entrance, though.
5. House of Pain
How thrilling would it be to see this group preform a song that represents our university? The student section at football games goes crazy when “Jump Around” plays. Not only this, but it is played at parties, and everyone knows that this song is essential to the Wisconsin experience. This one may be a stretch, but just imagine….
Add your own favorite artists to this list. Maybe one day your pregame music will come to life on a Madison stage…
