50 Must-Do Things Before Graduation

In your time at UW-Madison, there is no doubt you want to make the most out of every moment in your four years, or if you’re a lucky one, a few more. As a senior this year, there are still a million things I want to do, so here is a list of Madison’s best so you can start early and do it all!

1. Belly up to the bar, and order old fashions at The Old Fashioned

2. Plan a bonfire at Picnic Point

3. Rent The Trolley Pub for you or your friend’s birthday

What’s better than burning calories as you’re drinking them?

4. Meet and get a picture with Bucky

5. Attend the homecoming parade

6. Go to Dlux for breakfast potatoes and bottomless mimosas

Cheers at 10 a.m. in the morning.

7. Go to a badger football game (if you haven’t already)

8. Do a group Halloween costume and kill it

9. Go paddle boarding at the Union

10. Have a pitcher (or three) at the terrace

11. Participate in one of the 5k’s around Madison

Lookin’ good.

12.  Get breakfast at Gordons 

13.  Take advantage of student discounts and go to a well-known musical at the Orpheum Theatre

14. Attend a concert midweek with all of your friends

15. Try each of the food carts as many times as you can

16. Sign up for a class you have never tried at the serf

17.  Go to the farmers market and try all the cheesy bread or scones

They are to die for!

18 Skip the 2 a.m. line at Ian’s and go to Pizza Di Roma instead

19. Walk through the State Capitol

20. Go to the Henry Vilas Zoo

21. Sign up for the all you can eat/drink at a Madison Mallards Game

22.  Attend a Badger basketball game

23.  Go to open-mic night at the terrace

24. Make the trek to Mickeys Dairy bar for chocolate chip pancakes

25. Kiss Abe for Good Luck

26. Pull an all-nighter at College Library

27.  Go ice skating at the shell

28.  Get a group together to tube down the Sugar River

Speaking from experience, rain or shine it is quite the event.

29.  Throw up the W on the Terrace with your besties

30.  Go camping at Devil’s Lake state park

31.  Play kegball at the Vilas Park

32.  Attend a hockey game…can you say flow?

33.  Sled down Bascom hill after the first big snowfall

34.  See a movie at Sundance Theatre

35.  Attend Freakfest (you have to do it at least once) 

36.  Sample cheese curds from all the best restaurants on state street

37. Get Sunday brunch at Basset Street Brunch or Short Stacks

38. Tailgate with your friends and parents

39.  Sing a few songs at the real KK (Karaoke Club)

40.  Go to a movie at Union South

41.  Ride the carousel at Ella’s Deli and Ice-cream Parlor

42.  FAC because life is too short

43.  Do beer roulette at the Tiki Bar

44.  Ride the bull at Whiskey Jack’s Saloon

45.  Go to Maxwell Street Days on State Street

46.  Buy (and finish) a fishbowl at Wando’s

47. Attend Concert on the Square

48. Spend a day laying out and swimming by the Docks

49. Celebrate your birthday at the Nitty Gritty! (Unlimited free beer anyone!?)

50.  Stay till the 5th quarter at a Badger Football Game
