5 Stores to Find Trendy Clothes on a College Budget

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wisconsin chapter.

Have you ever wanted to get some more pieces to add to your wardrobe, but don’t have the money to pay for them on brand name websites? Or maybe, you’re saving for groceries or textbooks? Don’t worry! I’ve had the same problems before, and I’ve always found it difficult to shop for cute clothes on my very low budget. However, with enough researching, I was able to find some clothing stores with awesome prices that match well with my college budget. Here’s a list of places that would be awesome to browse on your next budget-friendly shopping trip!

1. SheIn

SheIn.com is an online store that sells clothes at ridiculously cheap prices. From cozy sweaters to trendy pants, you’re sure to find durable and comfy clothes for your everyday wear. Not to mention a great selection of going out clothes at really low prices. Something that is super nice about SheIn is that frequently throughout the week they offer free shipping on your entire order regardless of price, which can be really handy if you just want one shirt. Since their prices run so low, it sometimes sounds too good to be true with styles that normally run from $30-$40 at a brand name establishment — but don’t worry! I have personally shopped at SheIn, and so have several of my close friends and colleagues, and I have heard nothing but great reviews!

2. Forever 21

A universal favorite store is definitely Forever 21. One thing that I adore about this store is that it branches on a universal love of clothing for all types of people! Even though I’ve been shopping here since I was in middle school, Forever 21 is optimal for finding clothes that fit all your needs at any time in your life. Not to mention they are constantly having deals for clothes at really great prices! The store itself can get very overwhelming, so walking in might turn you off at first, but if you can focus on that one thing you need to get, the scavenger hunt could definitely be worth it!

3. Target

Common for your household needs and the general things that are important in our everyday life, Target is also a great place to get clothes on a college budget. Target is an awesome place to search for in-style clothing that is sure to fit your best interest in fashion. One thing to keep in mind is that out of the stores on this list, Target has the higher likelihood of being the most expensive, but it reinforces that good quality can still come at pretty affordable prices. Target is great at providing you with deals on a wonderful selection of quality clothing that is sure to please your trendy needs.

4. Zaful

Much like SheIn, Zaful is also a website that provides you with a wide selection of clothes at unbelievably cheap prices. Through this wide selection online, there is definitely something for every clothes lover out there. Similarly to SheIn, they also have free shipping at least a couple times a month. In addition, they have collection deals that allow you to get several garments for a good price. Also like SheIn, it is easy to think that these deals are too good to be true, but I have also met plenty of people who have ordered clothes from here, and all their purchases have come in the mail intact and completely true to their size.

5. Ragstock

Last up on our list is a local favorite of all State Street goers, Ragstock! Ragstock is a great place that has all your theme party needs as well as a great selection of fashionable thrift clothes. Ragstock is also known for having several coupons at any given time for their clothes, so there are always great deals. Similarly, clothes at thrift stores, in general, are always a great place to look for trendy wear! Depending on where you live, it could be a trek to go all the way to Ragstock, but sometimes it’s worth the trek for that theme party outfit on Friday.  Overall, Ragstock is a great place for your trendy wear!

I hope this list provided you with some great places to get your clothes on a college budget. If there’s one thing I know I love more than buying clothes, it’s that I love buying clothes at wonderful prices that don’t break my bank account. Feel free to check some of these places out!
