The days are longer, the birds are chirping, and the temperature is getting just a little bit warmer. We’re all ready for sunny summer days when we can ditch our puffer jacket and gloves, but we’ve still got a little ways to go. Don’t let the chilly days bring you down, though. Dress up your space with some of these simple tips, and you’re sure to feel like spring is coming in no time.
1. Get some plants!
Pick up a little ivy plant or a bouquet of flowers and put them on your windowsill. A little bit of green and some pretty tulips will keep your room fresh. Don’t worry if you don’t have a vase; use an extra glass or water bottle that’s hanging around the kitchen.
2. Make a Garland
If committing to real plants is too much for you, get a little crafty and throw together a flower garland that will add a little something extra to your wall. These ones are fun and easy to make; follow the directions step by step or try designing your own!
3. Update your decor/wall
The posters we put up at the beginning of the year still mean a lot, but it never hurts to add to your gallery wall or move it around! Pick up some magazines from the store and rip out your favorite ads or pictures. Updating your decor is a fun, aesthetic way to move into a new season. Get extra spring-y with pieces that are pastel-colored or flowery.
4. Spring Bedding/throw/pillow
Those flannel sheets and that thick throw you love has been on your bed for some months now. Spring is just around the corner, so it might be time to update your bedding! Switch it up with some decorative pillows; add a soft throw to make your space feel even comfier. Check out these ones:
- Urban Outfitters Cactus Landscape Throw Pillow, $39 (pictured above!)
- Target Pink Linework Throw, $19.99
- Target Coral Embroidered Lumbar Pillow, $19.99
Just because those chilly winds are still blowing outside, it doesn’t mean your room has to feel or look that way too. Get in the mood for spring and warm weather by amping up your room decors. It’s a simple way to add a splash of color and a little bit of warmth to your space. Not to mention, a little refresher during the middle of the semester will keep you motivated and ready to rock the rest of the year.
