Badgers beware: Friday, December 13th 2013 (double 13… yikes) is today! Let the superstitions begin. Will your exam week be lucky? Or not so lucky? One day can determine it all, especially for the 40% of people who claim to believe in at least some superstitions on this day, according to NPR. Believe in it or not, here are 13 ridiculous superstitions:

1. Black cats crossing your path

Um… yes.

2. Breaking mirror.  7 years bad luck

Or having a run in with the Evil Queen… even worse luck.

3.  Bird in the house is sign of death

4. Walking under a ladder

5. Holding breath when passing cemetery

Ryan Lochte needs to be lucky for the 2016 Summer Olympics

6. Don’t open umbrella in the house; Otherwise this may happen.

7. Get out on the right side of the bed

8. Don’t go to hospital on a Wednesday; Even if theses two are working:

9. If a bird poops on you. You’ll be rich

10. To dream of a lizard means you have a secret enemy

11. Consult a witch doctor before a haircut… in Mongolia

Twitches… close enough

12. Moving cedar trees leads to death

NOOOOOOOOOO.

13. Garlic wards off vampires

Whether avoiding ladders or jumping under bird’s poop on Friday, keep in mind of the dangers and the luck to be had. Following the above 13 ridiculous superstitions will lead to a successful finals week, good luck Badgers, and may the odds be ever in your favor.
