What are you involved with at Winthrop?

I am very involved in Greek Life, but I was also just nominated into Kappa Delta Pi, which is an international honor society in education.

What is it like being the President of Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity (ZTA)?

Being ZTA president is definitely an experience of a lifetime. It shows you that there is so much more going on than you could have ever imagined in your organization, and it definitely gives you insight into the bigger picture of the Fraternity.

What are you best memories with Greek Life?

There are so many, but I would have to say that it’s about the lives we have changed. Being a part of a united Greek community has showed me how big of a difference we can make as a group, and it’s such a humbling experience.

What have you learned as a leader?

I have learned to be patient. We all know that it’s sometimes hard to step back and take a deep breath, but being a leader shows you that things aren’t always going to go as planned, so you just have to be patient and go with the flow.

If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?

Driven, creative and passionate.

Where do you see yourself after graduation?

I would love to become a Traveling Leadership Consultant for Zeta Tau Alpha. It’s been a dream of mine since I accepted my bid, and I would love to see that dream come true! I would love to travel the country sharing my experiences and knowledge with other sisters!

What are your favorite spots on campus and in Rock Hill?

On campus one of my favorite spots is Tillman. The building is so beautiful with so much history! Other than that, you can find me in the library! Haha. In Rock Hill, I love Nova’s. Their vanilla lattes are the BEST.

What do you do when you aren’t busy running around campus?

In my spare time I just like to just sit back and relax. Whether it’s getting my nails done or watching Breakfast at Tiffany’s in my room, I like to take the spare time I have for myself!

I am Carolyn Rennix, a CoFounder of Her Campus Winthrop and a senior mass communication major at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina. I am also the editor-in-chief of Winthrop's weekly student newspaper, The Johnsonian. I enjoy feature writing, photography and blogging -- all while drinking coffee at local shops of course. I was raised in a small seaside town, but I plan to travel and see what this world has in store for a young journalist.
