So what all are you involved in on campus?
I am a New Student Orientation Intern in the Office of New Student and Family Programs, Student Safe Zones Coordinator, a member of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity, Former Freshman and Transfer Orientation Leader, Adult Student Mentor, and I’m the Staff Coordinator for the Orientation Leadership Staff!
What is your favorite thing about Winthrop?
I think my favorite thing about Winthrop is how easy it is to get involved as a new student. Winthrop creates an environment that is welcoming and encourages students to get involved the moment they step foot on campus.
What is something you’re looking forward to?
Graduating, but I’m also excited because I’m in the process of applying to graduate school for Student Affairs/Higher Education. Waiting to find out where I end up is so nerve-wracking, but also exciting!
What’s your favorite spot on campus?
I really enjoy the amphitheatre by the little chapel.
Why did you choose to be a theatre major?
I chose to be a theatre major because it’s something I love doing, but it’s also a great way to get across messages that I am truly passionate about in a way that is accessible for most people. When people go to see shows, they often don’t realize the important messages that are being presented to them and they often generate discussion and encourage people to make a change.
Fun fact?
I have a cat named Amelia Meowhart…Mimi for short!
Favorite college memory?
Being an Orientation Leader! It was the most fun that I’ve ever had and it legitimately changed me as a person. I am so thankful to have had that opportunity while I was here at Winthrop.
One thing you would tell the freshman who recently got to Winthrop?
Don’t be afriad to try something new and get involved! You’ll build a connection to this campus and the people who inhabit it that you wouldn’t want to trade for anything!
