Will Lattman: The Photographer Behind W Lattman Studios

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Winthrop chapter.

Name: Will Lattman

Major: BFA- Commercial Photography

Year: Junior

Hometown: Born and raised in Hilton Head, South Carolina

How/why did you start W Lattman Studios?

Well i have a passion in the arts and because i wanted to have some sort of thing to centralize my art I do. Like even though I strictly do photography, I don’t want to be bounded to just that. I like to do performance art, installations, and there are other possibilities/avenues I want to venture in, so having a studio company name, well let me have some variety. I just thought the easiest way to go about showing my art without making a website (because I don’t know how to do that yet), was by making a Facebook page, so it started out as Sweet Apple Studios, but after a while, it didnt sound as professional as I was hoping. I then decided to go with W Lattman Studios for now, and then branch off later on if things pick up.

What is your dream in life?

Oh, see I have many dreams. Oh, that’s hard, see what I want to do with my career is to shoot for a magazine or work for the entertainment industry, either behind or in front of the camera, preferably in front of the camera. Being a TV personality would be prime.

If you do become a celebrity, what would you change your name to?

It would definitely have to be Liam Manchester!

What motivates you to work hard?

Well you see Tessa, my friends and family are the ones that motivate me. I like to think about the future and when I have kids, which I plan to, I want to provide for them and my future family.

What is your proudest accomplishment so far?

I got the Gold Key in the Scholastics Art and Writing Competition our of the whole state in South Carolina! It was called the “Regional Gold Key” and it was for my Photography Portfolio.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I’m 20 and I will be turning 21 in April and in 5 years I will be 25 to which I see myself interning with PacSun (I love wearing PacSun) and I hope to work with them, but if not, I will be in Charlotte or Ashville.

How has being an artist changed the way you percieve things?

Oh dude, I am able to pick up on small things. It’s a good thing and then it’s a bad thing; I get knit-picky and get really particular on how I want things to happen, but when I am around different people, I pick up on different vibes and different things.

Do you have a certain Fashion Style?

I am the East Coast version of the West Coast would be like.

I like to dress ways that are funky! I find a lot of my clothes at PacSun, Buffalo Exchange, H&M, Goodwill and TopMan (The male equivelancy to TopShop). By the way, if you’ve never heard of Buffalo Exchange, go and pursue that store because it’s the bomb diggity!

Do you have a signature catch phrase?

Wuddup doe?!

Who would you want to play you in a movie about your life?

That’s a great question, I’m glad you asked that because I’ve been thinking about this for about 3 years. See I want a documentary about my life on Lifetime! Lowkey, I’ve been considering Leonardo DiCaprio for the older version of me, but overall, I would have to say Scott Hoying (singer in Pentatonix).

Cliché question, if you were stranded on a deserted island, what three things would you bring with you?

I’m going to be needing a pillow and I hate to say it, but WiFi and my cell phone.

Who was your first celebrity crush?

*As he leans back and smiles* Ever since I saw Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Emma Watson! She is the perfect example of being intelligent and good looking (or drop dead gorgeous).

Lastly, what is your biggest pet peeve?

When you’re sitting in a room and it’s completely quiet and you can what your body is doing. Hearing people chewing just grosses me out, I mean it’s going to happen, so I just put up with it anyways.
