Truths From A Black Female Household

Growing up has its obstacles, and growing up with siblings can even make it easier or harder. Growing up African American also has its own set of probelms with pressure to achieve excellence and be the best woman you can be. Being in a house full of strong and independent women can shape you many different ways and make you into the powerful woman you are today. Here are 10 truths about growing up in a home full of black women!

1. No one knows who’s clothes are whose​

Everyone’s clothes end up in a huge pile in the laundry room. 

2. Arguments are endless.

You end up fighting about who will be Beyonce or Kelly in Destiny’s Child, and will continue fighting to the grave.

3. Grudges are held forever.

They ​will hold a grudge about you cutting their Addy doll’s hair back in 2001 ‘till forever.

4. The bathroom is always occupied.

Someone is always either in the shower, doing their hair, putting on a wrap, etc.

5. Using each other’s products warranted the beginning of WWlll.

​If you found someone using your favorite leave-in conditioner, edge control, or any favorite product, be ready to fight.

6. Nothing is ever yours!

Just be prepared to share all your life with them.

7. You will always have a strong support network.

They will always have your back in a fight, and will be your shoulder to cry on during The Color Purple.

8. You will also always have someone to laugh with.

Or laugh at. But they’re always there for a good laugh.

9. They bring you life and reality.

They will alwyas be real with you and keep you in line.

10. They’re your best friends and will be by your side for the rest of your life.

You can always count on them to be by your side and stick with you forever.

Sisters are one of the greaest gifts and can make your life an adventure everyday, so remember not to take them for granted and to love them deeply. 

Thanks to the women in my life who have made me the person I am today. Love you guys forever and can’t wait to see what the future has instored for us!
