Start Your Year Off Right!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Winthrop chapter.

As classes, homework and tests approach, we could all use some tips on how to be as successful as possible this semester. And, if you ask me, doing these 4 simple things will have you prepared and excited to start the semester off smoothly!

1. Be positive

Your mom wasn’t wrong when she said attitude is everything. I know you’re busy and probably overwhelmed, but having a can-do attitude will make you feel invencible. Once you imagine yourself killing your GPA, accomplishing your goals and staying motivated, it will all start to happen!

2. Get a best friend

…Or as I like to call it, an agenda. College can be stressful, hectic and messy between classes, greek events, sports, clubs and jobs, so getting an agenda and a daily to-do list is the perfect solution! Write it down, get it done, and kick this semesters butt!

3. Know your schedule

Okay, I know this might be difficuilt considering the amount of credit hours you’re probably taking, but hear me out. Being familiar with your class times and the building each one is in will subtract one more thing off your list of things to worry about! Plus, you don’t want it to be 9:28 am on Monday morning trying to remember if your 9:30 is in Sims or Rutledge, do ya?

4. Start your day with the perfect cup of coffee

Having a morning routine will help you get into the habit of getting up and being productive all day. Your perfect cup of coffee will help you feel energized, awake, and excited to start the day!

Remember, we’ll all be on the struggle bus–but its okay, because we can take on this journey together!

Happy fall semester, Collegiettes!
