In this day and age, everything seems to be priced way too much. Regardless of the reason, us college students can’t afford to have our pockets hurting 24/7.

It hurts to see that your favorite cereal went up 2x its price within the past 2 years.

That’s why I’ve compiled an oddly specific, but possibly helpful list of items that somehow still manage to be offered at cheap prices. I also linked them if it applies.

These choices are my own decision and is no way sponsored by any brand or company.

1. Lidl’s white bread

The grocery store, Lidl, has a specific loaf of bread that’s only $0.50. Yes, an entire loaf is 50 cents. Is the quality amazing? I don’t know, but it’s bread. Sometimes, you take what you can get, and this is definitely one of those times.

2. Funpops

Now, these popsicles aren’t necessarily a need, but it’s a good option for a little tasty treat. It gives that nostalgic feeling from when you’d eat 10 of them at a time as a kid. The good thing about these guys is that you can find them at a ton of grocery stores, ranging from $0.99 to $5, depending on the quantity and number of bags you buy. Shoutout to Lidl again, where they’re the cheapest they can be.

3. mcdonald’s

Not a specific product, but I feel like I had to include this. I mean, come on. I know McDonald’s is controversial, but you have to admit the prices can’t be beaten. Maybe that’s because of the questionable food quality, I don’t know, but it’s definitely noteworthy. I mean, as I said before, you take what you can get, and I will be getting their fries.

Anyway, moving on.

4. Rice-a-roni cups

One thing about me, I love rice. I also love different types of rice. Coincidentally, I also happen to love food that requires minimal effort to make. That’s why I love the microwavable Rice-A-Roni Cups. They’re also $1 at Walmart and Target (and maybe other locations). To me, that’s an easy steal. They’re also very flexible, so you can spice them up by adding more ingredients if you’d like.

5. rice crisps

Ok, I know, another rice product, but hear me out. This one’s for fellow cereal lovers. If you’re anything like me, you eat a bowl of cereal once and then get hooked on it for months. Well, my most recent cereal of choice would be Rice Krispies. So simple, yet so good. It takes me back to when I was younger and added a packet of sugar on top.

Anyway, Walmart sells a brand of the same exact type of cereal but for a little over a dollar. Typically, off-brand cereal tastes weird, but this one is pretty spot on.

6. glade air freshener

Sometimes, you want the room to smell like lemons or cashmere woods, your choice. At Dollar General, the Glade Room Spray is $1 for all of your fragrance needs.

That’s all I’ve compiled for now. Hope this inspired someone out there who’s trying to save a couple of bucks.
