Michael Jackson: King of Pop or King of Halloween?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Winthrop chapter.

I feel a new Halloween thriller coming on and I don’t want it to stop until I get enough!

There’s no doubt (or there shouldn’t be for that matter) that Michael Jackson is and will always be King of Pop even long after his tragic death in 2009. Throughout his life and career Michael has built a reputation for his fascination with all the scary things in life, with major songs like “Thriller” and “Ghosts” that people just can’t help but dance to on the scariest night of the year.

Since his passing Michael has still managed to stay in headlines and hearts around the world with a docu-film, several new albums, a wrongful death lawsuit, and talk of the uncanny resemblance between his daughter’s singing voice and his. With Halloween approaching, it’s only right to inform everyone on the latest thing that’s giving us Jackson fever: “Michael Jackson’s Halloween”.

“Michael Jackson’s Halloween” is an animated one hour special featuring over two dozen Michael Jackson songs. It follows the story of two millennials named Vincent and Victoria who accidentally meet on Halloween night and find themselves in a spooky situation at a place called This Place Hotel (lol!). Throughout the night Vincent and Victoria meet lots of creepy characters and have a time they will definitely remember.

The special premiered on CBS, so grab your popcorn and your sequin glove and watch!
