What will you do as CPC president?
I really hope to continue growing the Greek unity on campus. I have some big plans that with my wonderful executive board behind me I know we can accomplish. I also want to see our Greek community broadcasted positively in the media. In the world we live in today, Greek life is so frowned upon, but Winthrop is different and I think that we need to show everyone how amazing of an impact Greek life has on our growth as individuals.
Â
What is the one thing that you’re looking forward to in this new position?
I am looking forward to the connections I am going to make with all the women from different organizations!
Â
What does being Greek mean to you?
Being Greek means to me… being better today than I was yesterday. It is a constant growth that spawns from the constant support around you, whether it be from your sorority sisters, Panhellenic sisters, or other council members. Being Greek also means never being alone because there is always someone there to share the good, the bad, and all the moments in between!
Â
Why did you choose Winthrop?
I chose Winthrop because when I walked on campus for my first tour I felt like IÂ was home. I could see myself starting a new chapter of my life here and being truly happy.
Â
What do you plan on doing after you graduate?
After graduation, IÂ want to find a job teaching 8th grade History. Eventually, I will return to school for a Masters in Administration because I hope to be a Principal!
Â
Describe yourself in 3 words.
Passionate. Dedicated. Driven.
Â
What’s the best advice you can give about leadership?
Leadership isn’t just a title. Being a leader is about constantly learning. Being a leader is stepping back and watching others grow, but stepping in when others need a hand. It is having the ability to set your personal opinions aside and view a situation from the perspective of the future. A leader has to consider what will serve the group best, both now and in years to come. Being a leader is working toward the unified vision of the group at all times.
