Iggy Offers Fan a Job Via Twitter

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Winthrop chapter.

I guess I-G-G-Y isn’t the only name that’s going to be put in gold after yesterday’s commotion on Twitter.

Iggy Azalea, famous female pop star and rapper made one fan’s afternoon on March 13th when she responded to his Tweet. However, responding to the Tweet with a kind response like most celebrities do wasn’t all she did—she actually also offered him a job!

The fan, Brad Prescott, writes on his Instagram bio that he is a 21-year-old from Maine who moved to Los Angeles. According to the back-and-forth conversation via Twitter, Prescott told Iggy that he worked at “…A shoe store called Robert Wayne” where the store played an Iggy song that “one of the customer’s didn’t like.”

Iggy then proceeded to ask him if he was a full-time student or not, how many days a week he worked and if he got paid minimum wage or not. And then, the magic moment happened—she offered him the job we all dream about.

Iggy Tweeted, “@brdprsctt ive DMd you my assistants contact email. you can start next month at the new office. :-)”

Oh, if only that were me…

After the Twitter world blew up with @replies, favorites, and retweets, Iggy explained in another Tweet to @HausofIggz, “lol, actually i know brad because he was an extra on my music video and i thought he was very sweet and professional. :-)”

So, even if it wasn’t a completely random offer, it’s a good lesson for all of us: move to LA, be a “very sweet and professional” extra in a music video, and Tweet to the celeb in hopes of getting a job offer.

I know what I’m doing after college now!

Live fabulously and famously, Collegiettes!
