Audrey Hepburn’s Best Movies

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Winthrop chapter.

Audrey Hepburn is the quintessential classy lady, starring in over 25 films throughout her career. Here are some of her best!

“My Fair Lady”

Although Julie Andrews played the part of Eliza Doolittle on stage, Hepburn was awarded the part for the movie! It’s true that Hepburn herself is not singing in the musical, but still every minute is full of the antics of a poor woman becoming accustomed to the ways of high society…it’s a great film!

“Breakfast at Tiffany’s”

Breakfast at Tiffany’s is the movie everyone recognizes, but many have not actually watched it. Hepburn delights as Holly Golightly, a spritely young woman trying to make her way in the world along with her nameless cat. When she meets a writer named Paul Varjack, she is forced to take a look at her life and come to terms with who she is.

“Wait Until Dark”

Wait Until Dark is not your typical Audrey Hepburn movie. In this film she plays Susie, a recently blinded woman who is being tricked by conmen into finding a doll her husband brought home. The suspense builds every minute and keeps you rooting for Hepburn the whole time.

“How to Steal a Million”

In the 1966 film, Hepburn plays Nicole, a daughter set on stealing a Parisian statue worth one million dollars. How to Steal a Million is one of Hepburn’s more comical movies, showing her range of acting abilities.

“Roman Holiday”

Roman Holiday, one of Hepburn’s earlier movies, centers on bored Princess Ann. Ann breaks away from her stifling life to run around Rome with a handsome American newsman.

So, if you’re an old film buff like myself and are looking for a new flick to watch, I definitley suggest watching one of these! Hepburn never fails to amaze and entertain!

Happy viewing, Collegiettes!
