1. Reese Witherspoon and Sarah Michelle Gellar were considered to star in the movie.
Witherspoon auditioned for Cher and Gellar for Amber. Both didn’t take the role because they each were filming for other movies.
2. Cher has 60 costume changes during the movie.
In 7 of them, she was wearing plaid.
3. The entire film was shot in just 40 days.
That was all the time they had.
4. Donald Faison (Murray) only shaved the top of his head during the Val party.
He didn’t want to be bald for the other scenes so that is why Faison is seen wearing hats in most scenes.
5. Paul Rudd wanted to play Christian or Murray.
He would honestly be equally as dreamy as either one.
6. Brittany Murphy was actually “The virgin who can’t drive”.
During the movie, Tai (Murphy) lashes out at Cher and says, “You’re a virgin who can’t drive.” When in reality, that was only true about Brittany.
8. Alicia Silverstone mispronouncing “Haitians” was completely unscripted.
All the producers wanted Silverstone to redo the line, but director Amy Heckerling left it as it was because it was “so Cher”.
