7 Christian Songs For When You Need A Pick-Me-Up

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Winthrop chapter.

Sometimes life becomes a little overwhelming. Admit it. Things are not always rainbows and butterflies, and it is so easy to be discouraged.

Here are 7 songs which I have found to lift my spirits and remind me of who the God in which I serve is.

Reckless LoveBy: Cory Asbury

Lyrics:

“Oh the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God.”

“ When I was Your foe, Still Your love fought for me.”

Thy Will By: Hillary Scott and The Scott Family

Lyrics:

“ I don’t wanna think, I may never understand, That my broken heart is a part of your plan.”

“Sometimes I gotta stop, Remember that you’re God, And I am not”

Alive in YouBy: Jesus Culture

Lyrics:

“I’m not merely flesh and bone, I was made for something more.”

“ You are strong in my brokenness, Sovereign over every step”

Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)” By: Hillsong United

Lyrics:

“Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders, Let me walk upon the waters, Wherever You would call me.”

So Will I By: Hillsong United

Lyrics:

“If the stars were made to worship so will I.”

“God of salvation, You chased down my heart, Through all of my failure and pride, On a hill You created the light of the world.”

Trust In You By: Lauren Daigle

Lyric:

“When you don’t move the mountains I’m needing you to move, When you don’t part the waters I wish I could walk through, When you don’t give the answers, As I cry out to You, I will trust in you.”

Come Alive (Dry Bones)By: Lauren Daigle

Lyric:

“As we call out to dry bones come alive, come alive, we call out to dead hearts come alive, come alive, up out of the ashes let us see an army rise we call out to dry bones come alive.”

I highly recommend creating a playlist with some (or all) of these songs.

Add your own personal favorites, and let it play no matter what your circumstances are. Music is good for the soul Collegiettes.
