6 Struggles of Waiting for Fall Weather as Told by Leslie Knope

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Winthrop chapter.

October is almost here, Fall and Halloween decorations are finally out, and yet somehow the weather still feels as if it’s the middle of July.

While I thoroughly enjoy living in the South, and have for the entirety of my life, I am beyond impatient when it comes to waiting for cooler weather. There’s nothing I love more than tossing on my favorite hoodie and a trusty pair of black leggings before heading out the door in search of fun and festive Fall activities; the only problem with this is that living in such a warm climate means practically sweating to death in the process.

With this in mind, I’d like to present what I believe are the six biggest struggles of waiting for Fall weather – as told by one of my all-time favorite people, Leslie Knope.

1. Checking the weather day after day, and constantly being disappointed when you see anything above 70 degrees.

2. Trying to find an outfit that accommodates the cool morning weather and afternoon heat wave

3. Deciding to wear your cute fall outfit anyway and nearly dying of heat stroke by noon

4. Dealing with the sweat stains associated with said poor outfit choice

5. Contemplating whether moving to a state with a cooler climate is an option

6. Praying that Mother Nature has mercy on your poor, overheated soul

Even though the current weather situation isn’t exactly ideal, I plan to enjoy the beginning of this year’s Fall season with my {iced} pumpkin spice latte just the same.
