12 Tips for Living a Happier Life

Hey Collegiettes! We know that it isn’t hard for your semester to get you feeling down in the dumps and like giving up. Heavy course loads can cause a great deal of stress in your life. We also know that there may be many other factors outside of academics causing you to not be living your happiest life.

We’re here to bring you 12 tips so you can live a happier life and shine brighter!

 

1. Get organized

Organizing can often bring some peace of mind and can put you in the right mindset to have a better day. Try organizing your closet, bookbag, or even your car!

2. Smile

Just the act of smiling alone can make your feel happier!

3. Exercise

Exercising is a great way to relieve stress and get your mind off of things! Even if you go for a brisk walk 10 minutes a day with friends, you will feel much better!

4. Share

Sharing with others will help you feel great and others feel great!

5. Be thankful

Express your gratitude to others is a great way to make your realize just what all you have in your life to be thankful for.

6. Eat healthier

Eating healthier will lead you to feeling better. The better you feel, the happier your life is!

7. Treat yourself!

Donna and Tom said it best. Give yourself a break and TREAT YO SELF. Buy that shirt you have been wanting. Go out to your favorite restaurant. See that new movie you’ve been waiting to come out.

8. Get rid of negative thinking

Get rid of those negative thoughts! They are only weighing you down. 

9. Create memories

Get out there and have some fun! Grab your friends and make memories!

10. Sleep

Getting enough sleep is crucial to feeling good-especially in college. No more nights of just 3 or 4 hours of sleep. Try to get 6-8 hours minimum. Power naps are great too!

11. Get some sun

Soak in some sunshine! This boost of Vitamin D will have you feeling better! Plus, spending time in nature is a great way to feel happier.

12. Do what you love

Whether it’s eating your favorite food, visiting your best friend, or reading Her Campus, it is important to spend time doing what you love.
