Thoughts Leading up to the BIG 21st Birthday

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Winona chapter.

Turning 21 is a rite of passage in the United States; it is the last step to becoming an adult, other than getting your first big-girl job. Drinking is no longer illegal and maybe the thrill will be gone, but there will be way more freedom. Winona is pretty dead in the winter because the best things to do are outside, so being 21 will open up more fun things. Now that I’m just days away from the big 2-1, here are the thoughts that run through my head daily.

Well sh*t, this is my last exciting birthday.

I’m going to be spending so much money on booze now.

I can finally go to Tav Tuesday and Elmaro! #Winonathings

St. Patrick’s day is going to be so lit.

Now I won’t feel like such a baby when I go out to eat with my family. #youngestchildsyndrome

I CAN ENTER A LIQUOR STORE!!!

Now I can guilt-free taste test my dad’s beer when at restaurants. #sorrynotsorry

Weddings, concerts, vacations and family parties are going to be much more fun.

Hi I'm Emily and I'm from Appleton, Wisconsin! I'm a Mass Communication- Advertising student, with a minor in Art History at WSU. I like concerts, hockey, cooking, and dancing in the car. I also enjoy guacamole, french fries, and caramel iced coffees from Dunkin' Donuts. All I really want to do is travel the world, move to a big city, and spend my weekends on a lake.
