National Cheese Pizza Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Winona chapter.

Everyone loves pizza; I don’t think I’ve ever met a single person who doesn’t like a regular cheese pizza. National Cheese Pizza Day (and yes it exists) is Tuesday, September 5th, 2017. To kick off this cheesy day, here are the top four cheeses you can find on your pizza.

1. First and foremost, the most popular cheese pizza topping is mozzarella. This can give your pizza the fresh taste that it needs as well as make it light and creamy.        2. The second cheese type is provolone. While not very common in terms of pizza toppings it is a cheese that is blended with mozzarella. Provolone tastes different based on how long it’s been aged and can make a perfect pizza topping!

3. Cheddar is another not-so-common topping for cheese pizza but one that also works very well. This is one that is in a lot of cheese blends when you order pizza from a pizza shop.

4. Last but not least is parmesan cheese. This is not one that is used as a topping for cheese pizza but merely a topping to make your pizza have that extra cheesy taste. This is the perfect way to finish off any pizza and you can add as little or as much as you like.

National Pizza Day is coming up soon, so if you have to choose, which topping would you want on your pizza? Are you going to make a homemade pizza or order it from your local pizza shop? Have fun on National Pizza Day and don’t forget to get your favorite cheesy pizza!
