Happy fall, ladies!

In honor of the first day of fall, Sept. 22, here’s a bucket list of 22 fun things you can do this season around the city of Winona and the Winona State University campus.

1.  Get decked out for a WSU home football game (Sept. 30 vs. Upper Iowa Falls, Oct. 21 vs. Wayne State, and Nov. 9 vs. Augustana).

2.  Bring your favorite scarf and have a fall photoshoot with your besties. Candid “cheesin’”s and tossing leaves up in the air may be cliche, but the pics will, for sure, attract your Insta followers.

3.  Take a foggy morning walk around the beautiful Lake Winona.

4.  Got a sweet tooth? Head over to Bloedow’s Bakery and try one of their delicious cinnamon rolls and donuts!

5.  Wear your go-to pair of leggings to class multiple days in a row just because you can.

6.  Check out the Garvin Heights lookout in the afternoon and snap an artsy pic of the autumn scenery… Insta-worthy? I think yes!

7.  Up for a road trip? Go apple picking at Hoch Orchard & Garden in La Crescent, which is about a half hour from WSU.

8.  Grab a couple friends and find your way through Tews Corn Maze, which is 20 minutes away from campus. Pick up a cute pumpkin from the pumpkin patch, too!

9.  Decorate your pumpkin by carving or painting it. Have a sudden shortage of creativity? Scroll through Pinterest for some awesome inspiration.

10.  Rock a dark shade of nail polish or lipstick… or both!

11.  Still craving some sweets? I don’t blame you. Adventure over to Winona Bread & Bagel, which is a 15-minute walk from WSU. Order an apple cinnamon muffin, cinnamon sticks or a caramel pecan roll… or all three. That’s fine, too.

12.  Break out your pair of Uggs and strut around campus with them on.

13.  Be even more basic and walk into a nearby Starbucks or Caribou Coffee with your Uggs on and order a pumpkin spice latte.

14.  If lattes or coffee aren’t your thing, then order a nice cup of hot chocolate

15.  Hit up Netflix with your bestie or beau and host a scary movie marathon.

16.  Pig out on Halloween candy and popcorn… the possibilities are endless!

17.  Hunker down with a fuzzy blanket and watch It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. (This one’s a personal tradition.)

18.  Go to a Halloween party and coordinate killer group costumes with your roomies.

19.  Feel like baking? Go to Target, Hy-Vee or Walmart and pick up one of Betty Crocker’s amazing boxes of pumpkin bread mix. Don’t forget a can of cream cheese frosting!

20.  Cozy up next to a bonfire and roast s’mores.

21.  Stuff yourself at Thanksgiving dinner. Don’t worry, food babies are totally acceptable.

22.  Finally, write a list of people you’re thankful for and share it with them to show your appreciation.
