Girl Scout Cookie Ranking

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Winona chapter.

It’s always a nice surprise each February when the word starts to go around that Girl Scout cookies are being sold again. Seeing Girl Scout troops fundraising outside of local stores and on street corners is as sure a sign of spring as the melting of snow or the budding of tulips. When my Facebook friends started posting order forms for this year’s fundraiser, I whipped my wallet out faster than you could say Do-si-dos. Here’s my official 2022 Girl Scout Cookie Ranking, from least-best to best.

12. Lemon Ups

In my opinion, these crispy lemon cookies are trying too hard to be Lemonades. They will never be lemonades, nor are they as good. Don’t get me wrong, they’re still cookies and I still like them, but not as much as any other cookie.

11. Trefoils

These are really good with a glass of milk, or to set out at Easter on a cookie platter, but if you’re looking to eat a cookie that you’ll never forget, this isn’t the one. They have a very classic, yet very bland flavor and are nothing extravagant!

10. Toffee-tastic

“Rich and buttery,” the official website claims, but to me, they kind of taste like a regular shortbread cookie that someone who had a Werther’s caramel stuck in their teeth said tasted like toffee. I’m not a fan.

9. Do-si-dos

I reeeaally love peanut butter, but these aren’t very original to me. If you like Nutter-Butters, you’ll like these.

8. Caramel Chocolate Chip

An oldie but a goodie. These won’t disappoint most crowds, but they are also kind of boring. Chocolate chip cookies are kind of out of style for me right now. Give me something exciting.

7. Adventurfuls

I love these with my whole entire stomach, but I can only eat one before I ABSOLUTELY need a glass of milk and a nap. They are so rich and so decadent!

6. Girl Scout Smores

You can never go wrong with a s’more. So good. They taste like a real s’more while still maintaining their cookie-ness.

5. Thin Mints

This might be the one I get the most backlash for, but Thin Mints are really only good if you eat them frozen. Honestly, that’s great, but when my cookies require me to prep them beforehand, no thanks.

4. Samoas

These are little coconutty rings of caramel goodness. They are literally perfect in every way IF you like coconut. If not…then nothing to see here…

3. Toast-Yays

Though relatively new to the cookie world, these bread-shaped cookies taste exactly like if Cinnamon Toast Crunch was a dessert. They have quickly become a favorite of mine, and I may or may not have eaten an entire package by myself.

2. Tagalongs

Yes, these are the peanut butter chocolate ones you know and love. Despite their thick chocolate coating and even thicker peanut butter filling, I can and will eat a whole container of these as well. Tagalongs are queens and they know it.

1. Lemonades

These are my all-time favorites. They are shaped like a lemon slice, smell amazing when you open the package and are sweet, tangy, sour, and creamy all at the same time. A cookie could not be more perfect than this one right here.

Well, there it is. The only Girl Scout Cookie Ranking list you’ll ever need. The Girl Scouts stand for building dreams, togetherness, self-actualization, and community betterment. Some of my opinions may have offended you, but don’t let that stop you from trying them all and supporting young women within the organization.

Winona '23

Hey! I'm Page, and I am a junior undergrad at Winona State University majoring in Applied and Professional Writing and Creative Writing, and minoring in Literature. I'm from Waseca, Minnesota, but I moved around the state a lot as a kid. After college, I plan to work as an editor/publisher while also pursuing authoring on my own. I enjoy reading, watching stand-up comedy specials on Netflix, baking (and eating said bakes), kayaking, and snuggling with my two dogs: Janey and George. In my head, I am dating Harry Styles…in reality, however, this is not the case, but I am a huge fan.
