‘Tis the season of sparkling lights, wonderfully cheerful holiday music, and gag gift parties. I don’t know about everyone else, but I always want to find a gift that is not only funny but useful. This always results in scrambling at the last possible second to find the perfect gift.
I hate giving and spending money on a gift that someone won’t ever use; it just seems like a waste to me, hence my quest for the perfect gag gift. I’ve looked high and low for these types of gifts, and I’ve found that they are hard little buggers to find. I’ve noticed that more stores have added sections that are for “last minute or odd gifts.” One of these stores is Target. They have added a section for everyone’s last minute gifting needs. These gifts vary from gnome shaped candles to a palm reading hand jewelry dish. They’ve made the gag gift search quick and easy.
I’ve noticed that most of these gifts are designed for girls. What about the men in your life? Well I have two words for you, Urban Outfitters. This store is the gag gift mecca. I love looking through the quirky gifts that they have for all genders. When I want to put a little extra thought and money into my gift I usually go to Urban Outfitters or stores that are similar. They also make it easy by having a whole section of gifts just for the men. How convenient is that?
I know I’m one busy person, so if I can find a store that kills two birds with one stone, why the heck not shop there?
Another great store is Francesca’s. This one would be perfect for the ladies. Not only does the store have unique clothes, they have tables set up around the store filled with goodies that every girl needs in her life. The items that they have are also outside of the box pieces to make any girl laugh and then realize how much she needed that item in her life.
Another great place to look are the little shops around your town. These are usually privately owned. This means that most to all of the merchandise within the stores will be one of a kind, or hard to find anywhere else. Unlike gifts from stores in your local mall, these will stand out and make more of a statement. Now that you all have been given a little help with finding the perfect gag gift, get out there and start shopping!
