Dos For Your Hairs

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Winona chapter.

Hair is something that can make or break your whole look. It can make you feel super confident and buoyant. No one has the time, patience or skills to pull together a prom up-do every day and if you’re like almost every girl besides Gigi Hadid, you don’t wake up having natural beach waves. I am a girl with a head full of tight, frizzy curls that have a mind of their own. Last summer I thought it would be easier to just have short hair . . . bad decision. It was the same amount of difficulty and made my face look even rounder and more baby-like. Long story short: trust your hairdresser when she says, “Are you sure?”

Here are a few hairstyles that will take you only a few minutes to tackle.

1. Top knot. This is a tight bun that one wears directly on top of the head. It stays in all day, making it great for the gym or even work.

2. Messy bun. This is a loose bun that makes it look like you have more hair than you actually have, so short-haired peeps, this one is for you. It is also great when you don’t have time to wash your hair.

3. Man bun. This may be the hairstyle of the last months of 2016; I couldn’t leave the house without running into a man bun. This one is practical. Get your hair out of your face, but still show you showered.

4. Half-up, half-down. This is a go-to if your hair is looking good after you wake up, or even if only half of it looks good because you can pull the bad parts aside. If you have time in the morning to do some curling or straightening this look is a must-try.

5. Double French or Dutch braids. Hair’s wet? No problem. This is a great style for you if you take a shower in the morning. If you can’t do it yourself, ask a friend or roommate (that’s what I do, YAY Alyssa)!! It stays in all day and keeps your hair out of your face. The best part is you feel like a random mix of your kid self and a bada**.
