What better way to spend your Sunday afternoon with friends and family, running or walking for a great cause? The run supported Hiawatha Bluffs, a long term housing community for adults with mental illness. The free event brought many locals and college students to Prairie Island to get blasted with a variety of colors at each kilometer. Take a peek at how students celebrated finishing their 5k!

WSU students pose for a picture before leaving the race much more colorful than when they started. The race wasn’t timed, it was more of a competition of who finished looking most like a rainbow and had the most fun.  Â

Veronika Horton plans to eventually go into the military and ran the race to support the troops. What a great way to represent her pride!
Not only were their people dressed in tutu’s, colorful socks, and crazy wigs but there were  also people dressed up in costumes to make the run as enjoyable as possible. It was meant to be a fun 5k and not a struggle to finish, so this character livened up the run!

Make sure if another color dash comes to Winona, you sign up to participate after seeing how much fun this event was!
